Yellowstone Drops Dramatic Full Trailer Ahead of Season 5B

The second half of Yellowstone’s fifth (and allegedly final) season is nearly here, and Paramount Network is teasing fans with a full trailer for the new episodes.

The network released a new teaser for season 5B on Tuesday, October 22, and the clip promises plenty of drama to come as Yellowstone finally closes out the season that first started airing in November 2022.

“Everyone’s forgotten who runs this valley,” Kevin Costner begins in a voiceover as John Dutton. “Time to remind them.”

True fans, however, know this is not new footage, as it’s from an earlier season — and Costner, 69, exited the show last year after finishing the first half of season 5.

While the Costner bits don’t appear to be new, there are plenty of other moments seemingly culled from the forthcoming episodes. In one scene, Sarah Atwood (Dawn Olivieri) encourages Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley) to push forward with whatever nefarious deeds he’s got cooking. “Old lions die in the jaws of younger lions,” she says. “And you are the younger lion.”

Later in the clip, Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) swears a blood oath with Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes), and Rainwater declares that they’re “brothers now.” That dramatic scene is followed by one where Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) and Lloyd Pierce (Forrie J. Smith) light a car on fire after discussing whether they plan to enter the fight.

Meanwhile, Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) is still focused on her beef with Jamie. At the end of season 5A, she was planning to kill him, and she doesn’t seem to have changed her mind about moving forward with that course of action.

“He will ruin this family’s name,” she says through tears.

Jamie, for his part, is apparently the target of a raid by the FBI, and Sarah’s not happy about it. “I took all the risk and I took it for you,” she says before slapping him across the face.

The trailer ends with Beth delivering the line, “The only thing left to do is to kill as much as you can before they kill you.”

A final trip to Montana? Rumors about the future of Yellowstone have been swirling since the first half of season 5 wrapped up in early 2023 — and the cast has had plenty to say about it. Speculation about the show’s possible finale began in February 2023 when Deadline reported that Paramount Network was considering […]

The second half of Yellowstone’s fifth season was originally scheduled to premiere in November 2023, but production was delayed following a rumored feud between Costner and cocreator Taylor Sheridan. While both men denied any tension, Costner ultimately left the show, and production was further delayed because of last year’s joint WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.

Paramount Network previously announced that Yellowstone would end with season 5, but speculation continues about whether there will be a sixth season after all. Multiple outlets reported in August that Reilly, 47, and Hauser, 49, were close to signing deals for another season. While the network has not commented on the reports, fans can’t help but notice that recent teasers have been referring to the new episodes as “the epic return” rather than “the final season.”

Yellowstone season 5B premieres on Paramount Network Sunday, November 10, at 8 p.m. ET.
