UK weather: Met Office issues 11-hour thunderstorm warning for TODAY as crowds drenched in Trooping the Colour parade

A YELLOW weather warning has been issued for large parts of the UK as crowds were drenched during the Trooping the Colour parade.

The Met Office has issued a yellow thunderstorm warning for the north of England and Scotland.

The weather front is set to last until around 11pm today.

The Met Office have told the public to expect: “Slow moving thunderstorms and heavy showers may cause some disruption to travel and outdoor activities.”

They added that drivers should allow longer for their journeys and that train services could be affected too.

Earlier today the crowds braved the rain as the Royals walked out at Buckingham Palace during Trooping the Colour in Kate’s first public appearance since Christmas.
