Nat settles on Rams

Derby have brought in Liverpool centre-back Nat Phillips on loan for the rest of the season.

Phillips, 27, has had five previous loan spells away from Anfield since arriving from Bolton in 2016.

In all, Phillips has played 29 times for Liverpool.

He becomes Derby’s TENTH summer recruit.

Suits you, Ster…

Raheem Sterling’s possible switch to Arsenal could suit all parties.

Sky Sports News’ chief reporter Kaveh Solhekol explained why joining the title challengers would appeal so much to the Chelsea attacker.

He said: “Raheem Sterling is not just motivated by money, that’s why he was never going to move to Saudi Arabia or the Scottish Premiership.

“Arsenal is an attractive destination for him – a model club, challenging for titles, in the Champions League.

“And really importantly, Raheem Sterling’s family are settled in London.

“Now, the proposal has been put to him and it’s one he’s seriously considering. I’ve had a message in the last few minutes saying talks are advancing and real progress is being made.

“Someone on the other end of the deal felt Raheem was going to make this move away from Chelsea.

“He’s still 29, feels he has a lot to offer the game – he wants to get back to his best, play at the highest level again. His ultimate ambition is to win some more trophies and get his England squad place back.”

Scott moves for £26m

Scott McTominay completed his Napoli move for £25.7million.

The Manchester United academy product was linked with Newcastle at one stage.

But Antonio Conte’s Napoli pretty much tied up a deal in the past week.

Red Devils’ fans are divided over the permanent departure of the Scot.

Most admire his hard graft, dedication and long connection to the club.

But some reckon he might never be the type of player United need if they really want to re-establish themselves at the very top of European football.
