Fans have enjoyed some of the most dramatic episodes in years, including the Joe Blackman, Harry Derbidge and Junaid Ahmed love triangle and Ella’s on/off relationship with Dan Edgar.

And we can reveal The Only Way Is Essex will return for a 35th series next year.

An insider said: “The cast got word late last week that Towie will be back for another series, which will film early next year.

“They were all relieved as while it’s been running for years, there is never any guarantee the show will return – especially in these challenging times when there are so many new fresh shows on the block.

“There is always the fear that viewers will get bored, or the channel will want to spend their budget on something different, so until that call comes through none of the cast can fully relax.”

Towie first launched in 2010 and made stars of the likes of Mark Wright, Sam Faiers and Lauren Goodger.

Series 34 might have ended but fans won’t have to wait long until it’s back on screens.

The Sun recently told how the show’s Christmas special will return this year for the first time since 2021.

The bumper Only Way Is Essexmas episode will air for 90 minutes and feature the main cast.

A source said: “The latest series of Towie has been a huge hit and there has been a lot of drama.

Towie in ‘fake’ row as fans left cringing over huge mistake in dramatic final scenes – did you spot it-

“It made sense to bring back the Christmas special.

“It’s a movie length episode and fans can expect some real festive fun, romance and probably a few feuds.”

Today fans pointed out a huge mistake in dramatic scenes from Sunday night’s episode.

Junaid was seen making a call to his best mate Dani Imbert to reveal it was over between him and Joe.

A shocked Dani then called Elma Pazar, who passed the news onto Saffron Lempriere.

Finally Saffron called Harry to tell him but the call was picked up by his cousin Amy.

But fans were quick to spot that some of the Towie stars weren’t actually on the phone.

They noticed that Elma’s iPhone was displaying the lock screen when she was apparently on the phone to Saffron, while the camera was clearly open when Amy was on the call.
