THE Tory leadership contenders traded blows yesterday over quitting the European Court of Human Rights.
Robert Jenrick said Britain must leave as any attempts to reform it were “doomed to fail”.

But Kemi Badenoch dismissed it as “easy answers” and James Cleverly said there are no “shorthand answers and quick fixes” to stop the boats.
The mudslinging over the Strasbourg court came ahead of the first knockout round of voting tomorrow.
Hardliner Mr Jenrick doubled down on his pitch to resurrect the Rwanda scheme.
The ex-Immigration Minister said: “To do that, we have to leave the European Convention on Human Rights.
“The public are demanding action on this as they are aghast at what is happening in the English Channel.
“And if we were lucky enough to re-enter government, they would not give us a third chance if we wasted years and years in an attempt to renegotiate our terms — which would be as doomed to fail as David Cameron’s attempt to renegotiate our EU membership.”
The ECHR judges blocked the initial 2022 Rwanda flight.
Launching her leadership bid, frontrunner Ms Badenoch said she would not campaign on a promise to quit the court.
Mr Cleverly said he would bring back a Rwanda-style plan but stopped short of a promise to leave Strasbourg.
Tom Tugendhat, Dame Priti Patel and Mel Stride are also standing in the contest.
