The latest Battery Video Doorbell offers a 150-degree by 150-degree field of sight, which Ring says is roughly 65 per cent more visibility compared to its other gadgets.

Footage can be captured in high-definition (HD) and Colour Night Vision, so users can scout out shifty visitors day and night.

The battery life is also up to 23 per cent longer than the previous model, according to Ring.

The gadget is set up differently to its siblings, the company explains, as it has a new push-pin mount design that lets customers push the doorbell into the wall mount to attach it.

Then when the time comes to recharge the battery, customers can release the doorbell from the mount by inserting a new push-pin tool.

It sounds similar to removing the SIM card from an iPhone, with a small push-pin that comes along with the device in its box.
