A FAMILIAR face from early 2000s television has stunned fans with her age-defying looks two decades after her breakout role in a beloved series.
Best known for playing fiery Ruby Ferris in Cutting It, Lucy Gaskell captured the hearts of viewers on the the hit BBC drama.
The series followed the lives of a group of Manchester hairdressers through their experiences of love, heartbreak and betrayal.
Ruby was the daughter of leading woman Allie Henshall, who ran the Henshall Ferraday salon and often found herself embroiled in love triangles.
Cutting It became a quick favourite for its unforgettable characters after its premiere in 2002.
Lucy was nominated for the Best Newcomer Award by the Royal Television Society for her role as Ruby.
When the show ended in 2005, Lucy quickly transitioned to other acting projects, but Cutting It remains a defining moment in her career.
She went on to star in other popular series such as BBC comedic drama Being Human and medical drama Casualty.
Lucy also had a role in James Corden’s movie Lesbian Vampire Killers in 2009 – but the film got terrible ratings and was hated by many viewers.
Outside of the limelight, she went on to marry actor Mark Bonnar – who has starred in Catastrophe and Line of Duty.
They met when they were both in a production of Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard.
The pair tied the knot in 2007 and have had two children together.
They welcomed daughter Martha in 2011 and son Samuel in 2015.
Adoring fans have kept up with Lucy’s life via social media, and often comment on how gorgeous the 44-year-old star is.
On a recent birthday post on Instagram, one follower wrote: “Darling!!!! You look absolutely glowing.”
Another exclaimed: “You’re one of these people who doesn’t age!!”
