The medic of 30 years said it was “unforgivable” the trust did not do proper risk assessments or change Calocane’s medication which, he said, would have stopped him.

The dad, from London, told The Sun: “The trust shared their information on Calocane with us.

“But they didn’t tell us they thought he could kill.

“In the end they washed their hands of him and put a killer in our community.

“I want the name of every physician who saw him so they can be held responsible.

“They all need to go in front of a panel.

“If a surgeon out there took out the wrong kidney he’d be in front of the GMC in a matter of minutes.”

Slamming the playing-down of dangerous Calocane’s risk in eight separate assessments, Sanjoy said: “None of the risk assessments were completed properly.

“They should have happened. It beggars belief they were letting this man out without one.

“In my whole 30-year career I have never sectioned someone four times.

“To have him in on all those occasions and not change his medication four times is a mistake multiplied by four.

“That is such a big deal medically.

“The last thing you should ever do is to deprive a patient of their liberty.

“For it to happen that many times and for no action to be taken is just unforgivable.
