Mystery as chilling message scratched on grave of girl killed in horror crash – just 2 days before anniversary of death

A CHILLING message has appeared on the grave of a teen girl killed in a horror crash just two days before the anniversary of her death.

Bethany Fisher died days after her 19th birthday when the car she was travelling in smashed into a number of parked vehicles.

Now her grieving family have been dealt a heartbreaking new blow after the teen’s gravestone was graffitied.

A thug scratched “Tick tock you next” under Bethany’s name on the memorial at Netherton Lane Cemetery in Northumberland.

The haunting words appeared the day before her birthday and two days before the seventh anniversary of her death.

Isabel Easson, Bethany’s mum, said: “We have to live with the heartbreak of losing our beautiful girl each and every day.

“Time will never heal these wounds, and now our suffering has been made worse by this horrendous act.

“Whoever is responsible for causing our family such distress at what is always the most difficult time of the year for us is utterly heartless.”

Northumbria Police has now launched an investigation following the callous act.

They believe the grave was targeted between 11pm on August 15 and midday on August 16.

Inspector Wayne Daniels, of Northumbria Police, said: “This act of vandalism at Bethany’s grave – a place where loved ones come to remember their beloved daughter, sister and friend – is an abhorrent crime.

“We would urge anyone who has any information about what has happened, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem, to come forward.”

Bethany had been out celebrating her birthday with her best friend Meg McBurnie when “show off” Jordan O’Donnell offered them a lift.

The driver had only passed his test just weeks earlier when he attempted to overtake another car on a bend.

O’Donnell lost control and smashed into parked cars before careering out of control and hitting a fence and wall.

He then fled the wreckage and later told police his car had been stolen during a burglary.

Bethany tragically couldn’t be saved and was declared dead at the scene of the horror on August 19, 2017.

O’Donnell was jailed for six years in October 2017 and banned from driving for four years following his release.

Anyone with information can call police on 101 quoting crime reference number 096827A/24.
