Love Is Blind season 7 stars Taylor Krause and Garrett Josemans are proof that the experiment works — and that the “wifey effect” is real.
Taylor and Garrett formed an instant bond in the Netflix pods, where they decided to get engaged sight unseen. Their chemistry only grew stronger when the two scientists met in person.
Taylor and Garrett both said “I do” during the season 7 finale, which aired in October 2024.
“Taylor, you’ve said it many times, the beautiful thing about us is that we didn’t come into this expecting to find our person,” Garrett began his vows. “It was just coming in here and learning more about ourselves and just with a very small glimmer of hope that we might find someone that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives with.”
He added, “To find the connection that we had in the pods and to find that feeling that I hadn’t felt before and … then to have that just buoyed by seeing you. I did not think it was possible to feel this way, finding a person that I think is so perfectly matched for me and I feel just perfectly matched for you. That’s exactly what I feel like this is. This is a partnership.”

A Pod Bond Like No Other
Taylor and Garrett quickly connected during the experiment over their scientific backgrounds and tattoos inspired by the elements. One thing that Taylor declined to share, however, was her ethnicity, keeping in mind the purpose of Love Is Blind.
“When it came to talking about how I looked in the pods, I really wanted to keep that as secret as possible,” Taylor exclusively told Us Weekly in October 2024. “I didn’t really think really long and hard about if I was going to bring up my ethnicity.”
She added, “I was just kind of trying to watch myself and like, ‘Would I slip or not?’ And my mom’s name is Fong and, I think, gives away pretty clearly I’m Asian. I just wanted to take ethnicity out of the equation.”
Garrett thought that Taylor’s hesitance to share her mother’s name was calculated.
“The pods were actually pretty hard,” Taylor told Us. “Being on camera that whole time and getting used to it and having these really deep conversations and, like, I started to really like the guy. To be called calculated when I’m just trying to be thoughtful, it was the first time that I felt that punch in the gut during the experience. I didn’t hold it against him ’cause I knew where it was coming from.”
On One Knee
Garrett overcame his doubts about Taylor’s reluctance to share her mother’s name, and they continued to connect in the pods. He proposed after she sent him the handwritten love letters from her now-deceased grandparents.
“I love everything about you. I think you’re an incredible person. I think you’re intelligent, you are very caring, kind, you’re authentic, you’re passionate,” Garrett said during his proposal. “In here, I’ve fallen in love with the person that you are. I’ve fallen in love with all your little quirks. I’m looking forward to seeing more of them. I love finding out things about you that you’re not even telling me, picking up on them.”
In Real Life
When Garrett and Taylor met in person, he got down on one knee again — this time with an engagement ring. They soon jetted off on a whirlwind vacation to Mexico, where their bond grew even further.
Once they returned home to Washington, D.C., Taylor expressed her hopes for Garrett to get a haircut, admitting that she simply didn’t like his short and spiky ‘do.
Roadblocks Ahead
Ahead of the cast’s Great Gatsby-inspired party, Taylor learned that Garrett had been in touch with a former girlfriend. According to Garrett, his former flame recently texted him.
“It obviously didn’t mean anything,” he stressed. “Like, I don’t feel any sort of way. I saw it this morning, I didn’t know how to react so I just ‘liked’ it and I literally did not think about it the rest of the day.”
Taylor, meanwhile, made it clear that Garrett should not have responded at all.
“I just want to make it incredibly clear that if other women from your past are talking to you, you’re just shutting it down,” she said. “‘I’m engaged.’ That’s it. Shut it down, don’t just leave them unread or even worse, ‘like’ something.”
During the bash, however, Taylor overheard Garrett confess to the other couples that he did more than just “like” the text message.
He explained, “I texted her back, and I just said, ‘Hey, I didn’t tell you this, but I met someone [and] I’m engaged,’ and basically, ‘I don’t think we should continue sending messages and I hope you have a great life. See you later.’”
While Taylor was initially upset about Garrett’s omission, they were able to get their relationship back on track. Garrett later traveled with Taylor to California to meet her family.
Wedded Bliss
The pair coincidentally tied the knot on the same anniversary date as both Taylor and Garrett’s parents.
“Well, G, it’s rare to see someone with a soul like yours. It really is. You truly are a person who sees people and I know that you truly see me,” Taylor gushed in her vows. “I also love your sense of humor and wit. You truly are an incredible glassblower, but more importantly, you’re going to be the person that helps make the really heavy things in life thrown our way feel lighter. You lovingly challenge me and make me wanna be better every day.
October 2024
When Love Is Blind season 7 started airing, viewers noticed that Garrett had a post-show “glow-up” with his hair and wardrobe. Because of the “wifey effect,” an online theory that women improve their spouse’s appearance after getting married, It was theorized that the new styling was Taylor’s doing. Both Taylor and Garrett trolled the speculation without giving much away.
“I really appreciate all the support from show viewers and not trying to ruin anything for anyone,” she wrote in a TikTok comment. “Just trying to make some funny videos! You can probably see some couples that you know already break up, share photos together on IG from their time on the show together.”
Taylor added, “I can totally understand the assumptions being made about the end of the show from a post, but I hope y’all think I’m mature enough that even if we did not end up together, I could poke fun on social media afterward.”
The season 7 reunion, which aired on October 30, revealed that the pair are still happily married and living in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
