LABOUR MP Chris Webb has described being mugged by a gang who snatched his mobile phone.
The member for Blackpool South said he was attacked as he returned to his flat in London on Monday night.
In a post on social media, he said he was assaulted by a “group of individuals”.
Webb said that he was left uninjured and “ok”.
He praised the Metropolitan Police for their “swift response and support”.
Writing on X, he said: “Last night, as I was returning to my flat in London, I was attacked and mugged by a group of individuals.
“Luckily, I have no injuries and I am ok. Unfortunately, they just took my phone so I’m without one for the foreseeable future.
“I want to thank the @metpoliceuk for their swift response and support.
“The officers who assisted me went above and beyond. They are a remarkable credit to the force.
“If you need to reach me, please contact my office on 01253 532 401. Thank you.”
Other MPs showed their support in the comments including fellow Labour MPs Kate Osborne, Chris Bryant and Josh Fenton-Glynn.
