They will be joined by a host of supporting acts including soul legend Heather Small and rock band Feeder.

Tickets were initially priced at £49.50 for general admission, but have now reduced by half with just over a week to go.

Ticket selling website Planet Offers – that’s operated by the team behind major national radio stations like Kiss and Hits Radio – is flogging them for half price.

Festival-goers can now bag themselves a bargain for just £24.75 for a single person pass.

Although prices have reduced on some websites – the official site is still selling them at full price.

Fans will also get to see Small of the M People, plus a number of local artists like Michael Gallagher and Marina Josephina.

It comes after Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson told The Sun that he can see both sides of the coin when it comes to fame.

“I can shop anywhere without people coming up to me, no one recognises me on the street,” Ricky says, before adding sarcastically: “I would wear my Virgin Radio pass on the Tube just to be recognised.”

“You are as famous as you want to be, to an extent.

“There is an element of fame which is quite satisfying to your inner ego.

“But the older and wiser you get, I don’t think you need that as much.

“If I won the EuroMillions would I just disappear? I’ve thought about it a lot and I don’t think I would.

“I would still want to be on the radio and I would still want to do stuff in my career.

“In a way does that mean it is about the fame and not the money? I like the bits when I am entertaining people.”

The band headed on their latest tour back in April.

Ricky says of hitting the road with bandmates Andrew White, Simon Rix, Nick Baines and Vijay Mistry: “It’s always fun and I don’t laugh as much when I’m not with them.

“When I was younger I used to get really excited about going on tour but then I’d hate it when I was there. I hated it.

“It was hard work, I was tired and it was awful.

“Now I’m older, I really dread going on tour but love it when I get there.”

Ricky now prefers to stay sober before going on stage after admitting he let down fans in 2022 when he went on stage at the O2 Academy in Leeds after drinking too much.

Ricky said: “I have always been a nervy guy and sometimes you make bad decisions.

“It is a very easy way out of a hard situation. It always had bad consequences.

“I would love to say it won’t happen again. The fact of the matter is I am in a band and we go on tour.

“I really have a fear of disappointing people and that was really s****y when I disappointed people.

“But you know things happen in people’s lives, they mess up.

“I have also never put myself out there as being perfect so I don’t think it really matters.”
