THE number of people taking supplements has rocketed since Covid when there was a huge increase in the consumption of multivitamins.
They may not be necessary for everyone but for those who don’t have the best diet or struggle to absorb some nutrients, taking vitamins can fill those gaps with a very low risk to your health.
Today I put some multivits to the test…
GUMMIES
THE new, vegan-friendly Multivitamin Gummies from Nutravita contain 14 active vitamins and minerals, including zinc, biotin, folic acid and niacin.
The exact combination is aimed at reducing tiredness and maintaining normal immunity as bones, teeth, hair and skin heath – claims substantiated by The European Food Safety Authority.
They taste great.
The only snag is that the first ingredient is glucose syrup followed by sugar.
Each bottle contains 120 gummies for a four-month supply.
From £17.99 (15p a day), nutravita.co.uk.

TABLET
I LIKE this multi-tasker because I am one of those who doesn’t drink enough water!
Phizz is a three-in-one effervescent tablet that you add to water to create a drink.
It comes in various flavours that taste great, some with caffeine.
Each has 18 vitamins and minerals designed to boost your natural energy including B12 and B6, and a huge dose of immune-boosting vitamin C (the equivalent of three oranges).
I like the fact it is a hydration formula too, thanks to electrolytes which are often lost through sweat.
They do contain sugar but only about ¼ of a level teaspoon per tablet.
I love these. One of my favourite products.
RRP is £8 per tube of 20 tablets but on offer at Amazon now at £4.80 – 24p a tablet.
