The over-30 beauty enthusiast explained that she was initially on the hunt for a product to clear up redness.
What she found, however, was much better than she’d expected.
“A few months ago, I started noticing some slight redness on my cheeks,” she said.
“I’ve always had a very even, olive skin tone, and I’ve never struggled with redness, so I was pretty taken aback. I figured this was skin changes happening as I’m entering my mid-30s.
“I did some research and saw a lot of recommendations for azelaic acid, so I decided to give it a whirl.”
After trying a few disappointing products, she found one that blew her expectations out of the water.
“Paula’s Choice Azelaic Acid Boost (with salicylic acid) didn’t make much of a difference. I switched to Naturium’s azelaic acid formula with niacinamide and vitamin C. And you guys… This stuff is amazing!” she said.

She warned that those with darker hair may experience a slight bleaching effect on the edges of their hairline due to the product’s strength.
“Mine is looking a little orangey; I need to get a better headband,” she said.
