SHOCKING footage shows the heart-stopping moment a baby in a pram rolls into the path of a speeding train.
The three-month-old baby luckily came away unscathed after its pram clipped the edge of a fast-moving train at Banbury train station on Saturday, June 8.
CCTV footage showed the gut-wrenching moment the pram slowly rolled towards the track.
The impact sent the buggy crashing down the platform before it toppled over.
The scary video shows someone quickly grab the baby off the floor to safety.
Paramedics later attended the scene and the child was miraculously given the all-clear.
The train driver, David Ward, had attempted to stop the train but overran the station after thinking he had eight carriages rather than four, a rail industry source told MailOnline.
The baby’s mother and grandmother were reportedly distraught following the fright.
The Sun contacted Network Rail for comment.
Footage shows passengers standing as they wait to board the train.
A blue pram then slowly moves towards off the platform and towards the tracks with the train fast approaching.
A woman sensing imminent disaster rushes to grab it, but it hits the third carriage and is sent flying down the platform – luckily, not onto the tracks.
It serves as a stark reminder to be wary of getting too close to the tracks after 11 accidental deaths on Britain’s railways in 2022/23.
West Midlands railway boss Jamie Ainsworth in February warned people about train danger following footage that surfaced of a man ignoring flashing red lights at a level crossing.
He took his dog under the barrier and walked across the tracks despite the train coming through just moments later.
The railway chief said in response: “I hope this video will remind the public to concentrate, wait behind barriers and follow instructions at level crossings to stay safe at all times.
“Incidents like this can also have a big impact on train drivers and I urge the public to bear this in mind when using level crossings.”
