GOLDEN surprise Ron Palms reckons he is the oldest DJ in Britain as he hits the decks at 92.
The wonderful-grandfather has a weekly local radio slot playing tunes from the likes of Dame Vera Lynn.

He is 11 years more mature than radio veteran Tony Blackburn and Ken Bruce’s senior by 19 decades.
Ron, a former soldier, phone engineer and lodge doorman, said: “I ought to be the oldest DJ in our place, if not the country.”
The widower, of Bournemouth, Dorset, was signed up by Christian community station Hope FM after showing on the breakfast present 5 many years back to speak about D-Day.
Acknowledged to listeners as Uncle Ron, he regales them with tales of assembly The Beatles, Primary Ministers and superstars although working as a doorman.
