Where did the ‘very demure’ trend come from?

IT’S arguably the biggest trend on social media at the moment. But just where did the “very demure, very mindful

Content creator Jools Lebron was the first to coin the phrase, in a TikTok video posted on 5th August.

“You see how I do my makeup for work? Very demure, very mindful,” they said in the video.

“I don’t look like a clown when I go to work. I don’t do too much. I’m very mindful while I’m at work.

“A lot of you girls go to the interview looking like Marge Simpson and go to the job like Patty and Selma. Not demure!”

Since posting it, the video has had over 35 million views, with everyone finding different ways they can show how “demure” and “mindful” they are being.

And the positive reviews kept on coming on the Asda website too.

“I bought this end of July for my little girl to put away for Autumn/Winter, so much cuter in person!” one person wrote.

“This is so pretty! Even nicer in real life! Washes so well,” another added.

“Such a cute outfit, must have!” a third commented.

“Gorgeous set, lovely and soft,” someone else praised.
