Fire Country’s Max Thieriot Teases Bode, Gabriela Romance ‘Uncertainty’

Max Thieriot teased that Fire Country’s Bode and Gabriela aren’t on the same page in the newest episode — even though they are happily hooking up.

In Us Weekly’s exclusive sneak peek at the Friday, November 15, episode, Bode (Thieriot) and Gabriela (Stephanie Arcila) wake up in an Airstream after sharing another night together.

“Round two?” Bode playfully asks, while Gabriela drags her fingers through his hair. “No, I’m just making sure that you don’t look like you and I just …” Gabriela says, before Bode chimes in, “Did exactly what we wanted to every night that I was in prison.”

A smitten Gabriela, replies, “Mmhmm, for the third time this week.”

While the twosome don’t appear to have any problems when it comes to their sexual chemistry, Gabriela is uncertain about what comes next.

“You and I are … we can do this. Us. For real. Whenever you’re ready,” Bode tells Gabriela while getting dressed. “I’m nowhere near ready to make a big life decision,” she says, later adding, “Don’t ask what we are. Don’t ask me what’s next. I can only give you right now.”

Bode is unfazed, replying, “I’ll take right now.”

Eike Schroter/CBS Fire Country‘s Max Thieriot and Stephanie Arcila know fans want Bode and Gabriela to finally get back together — but it doesn’t sound like season 3 is in a rush to make that happen. During an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, Thieriot, 36, and Arcila, 34, individually weighed in on the “different dynamic” […]

The former couple — who dated while Bode was at Three Rock Convict Camp — appear to be headed back to a full-on reconciliation, but according to Thieriot, 36, it may take a while.

“I won’t say it’s totally one-sided,” Thieriot exclusively told Us on Wednesday, November 13, teasing Bode and Gabriela’s future. “Obviously [there’s] always this sort of chemistry and lust and excitement there for both of them.”

The actor, who is also a cocreator of the series, explained that Bode is at the place where he’s saying, “We’ve talked about this for a long time, what it would be like when I’m out. And this kind of doesn’t feel like that.”

Gabriela, meanwhile, is dealing with a lot in her personal life after calling off her wedding to Diego (Rafael de la Fuente) during the season 3 premiere.

“I think there’s a lot of confusion for her. Obviously, the chemistry’s always kind of been there,” Thieriot told Us. “I would say the romantic side or like the connection side from Bode is stronger than it is from Gabriela just because of all the things that she’s going through.”

He teased that there’s a lot of “uncertainty” between them in relation to what a real relationship looks like now. “She’s kind of not ready to define that,” Thieriot said of Gabriela, noting that “puts some fear in him.”

Sergei Bachlakov/CBS Fire Country fans might be hooked on Stephanie Arcila’s onscreen connection with Max Thieriot, but the actress can’t stop gushing about a different costar bond. During season 1 of the CBS series, Arcila’s Gabriela Perez fell head over heels for Thieriot’s Bode Donovan. However, when asked who her “favorite” scene partner has been, […]

Gabriela’s hesitation to commit is due, in part, to her feeling like Bode is a “vice” even though he wants to be her safe haven.

“Is it right couple, wrong time, or were they ever the right couple?” Thieriot questioned. “What is it that sort of attracted them to each other and brought them together? And now that there isn’t this barrier between them, what do they become?”

He teased that the remainder of season 3 will explore those questions. “It’s kinda a wild ride,” Thieriot said with a laugh.

Fire Country airs on CBS Fridays at 9 p.m. ET.
