AFTER providing fans with nearly a decade of laughs, popular BBC comedy Man Like Mobeen is coming to an end.
The show, which stars and is co-created by comedian Guz Khan, will not return after its upcoming fifth and final season.

This axing has come despite the series acquiring both a devoted fanbase and widespread critical acclaim.
Man Like Mobeen follows the story of the aforementioned Mobeen, a reformed drug dealer trying to lead a law-abiding life in Birmingham’s Small Heath.
The series explores Mobeen’s struggles to balance his past with his Muslim family values, all while raising his younger sister Aqsa and navigating life with his close-knit friends Nate and Eight.
Guz Khan, who has also appeared on Taskmaster, confirmed the show’s final season will air next year.
In a candid statement, Guz admitted that the only reason he agreed to write another series was to provide closure for fans who have been eagerly waiting to see what happens next, especially after season four ended with Mobeen’s brutal prison attack.
He joked: “I can’t even shop at Aldi without someone popping out from behind the bread aisle and asking me when there’s going to be more Man Like Mobeen.
“So, for you, and only for you, here’s one, final, very last, never to be done again season of Man Like Mobeen.
“Please don’t make me make any more, I got loads of kids to raise and that.”
Filming for the final season has already begun, and it’s going to be set in Coventry and Turkey.
The six new episodes are scheduled to air on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer in 2025.
Guz has promised an epic finale to the show, which will see Mobeen being released from prison and embarking on an adventure.
If he can secure a plane ticket and fake passport, he may finally be able to leave his troubled past behind.
Returning cast members include Salman Akhtar as Mobeen’s best friend Saj, Duaa Karim as his younger sister Aqsa, Mark Silcox as the hilarious Uncle Shady, and Korkmaz Arslan as Turkish barber Emre.
Hussina Raja will also come back as Mobeen’s love interest, Nida.
Ever since the show aired in 2017, it has been praised for its sharp writing and authentic portrayal of British Muslim life.
Man Like Mobeen also won Best Comedy at the 2020 Broadcast Digital Awards, and has been a consistent top performer for BBC Three.
Series four was the platform’s most-watched comedy in 2023, with an average audience of 1.1 million.
