Typically, BBC Breakfast airs each morning on BBC One from 6am to 9.30am.

To make space on the schedule, multiple episodes will have their runtime cut down.

Whilst still kicking off at 6am live from the MediaCityUK studio, a rare move will see the show make shifts to its timeslot.

On Monday, July 28, the Beeb will air just two hours of Breakfast from 6am to 8am.

This will also be the case on Thursday, August 1 and Friday, August 2, being followed by Olympics coverage until 1pm.

However, the episodes scheduled for Tuesday, July 29 and Wednesday, July 30 are a much different story.

These two editions will be slashed down to just 45 minutes in total.

Having launched in 2000, BBC Breakfast made the move to Manchester back in 2012.

Presenter Naga Munchetty was recently unveiled as the show’s biggest earner after taking home a £345,000 – £349,999 salary.

She joined the programme in 2014 and regularly hosts alongside co-star Charlie Stayt, who was reported to have received  £190,000 – £194,999.

My wedding was beautiful and romantic but was nearly ruined by unforeseeable event, says BBC Breakfast’s Carol Kirkwood

However, he does not have the same amount of projects outside of the show as Naga.

Jon Kay was revealed as the second highest earner on the team, with £225,000 – £229,999, and Sally Nugent – who co-hosts with Jon every Monday to Wednesday, received £195,000 – £199,999.

Paris is the main host city for this year’s Olympics with many of the events taking place in the French capital.

There will also be competitions held at 16 other cities spread across Metropolitan France.

Who are the current presenters of BBC Breakfast?

The flagship BBC show has had dozens of presenters during its impressive 40 years on air but the current stars are:

Some famous British names competing include diver Tom Daley, 30, who previously won a gold medal at the 2020 Olympics and a bronze medal in 2012.

Meanwhile, Tennis legend Sir Andy Murray, 37, who took home gold in both 2012 and 2016, is also returning.

He is undoubtedly hoping for one more victory before signing off from professional tennis for good.

BBC Breakfast airs on BBC iPlayer.
