Man Utd transfer news LIVE: Jadon Sancho ‘in PSG talks’, £30m ‘bid for Matthijs De Ligt REJECTED’, Manuel Ugarte latest

PSG ‘ready to rival Juve for Jadon’

Paris Saint-Germain are rated “serious” contenders to bid for reported Juventus target Jadon Sancho.

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag insists he has “drawn a line” in his long-running saga with the unsettled winger, who is back training at Carrington after being on loan at old club Borussia Dortmund.

FootMercarto say PSG are now weighing up an approach for the£40million-rated 24-year-old.

Juventus had been regarded as the frontrunner for the 23-cap Englishman.

Dortmund are said to have been priced out of the race.

And it’s still possible Sancho could yet rekindle his United career.

Utd tipped to weigh up Fofana bid

Monaco’s Youssouf Fofana could join Manchester United’s list of midfield targets.

Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth claims the 21-cap Frenchman might be better value than PSG’s Manuel Ugarte.

So far the Red Devils brought in just two men – frontman Joshua Zirkzee and teen defender Leny Yoro.

‘Signing Merino & Sane would boost Gunners’

Arsenal have been told that signing Mikel Merino and Leroy Sane would close the gap on champions Manchester City.

Ex-Gunners and Manchester United defender Mikael Silvestre reckons Real Sociedad midfielder Merino and Bayern Munich’s ex-Man City winger would be quality additions.

Silvestre told bettingexpert.com: “Sane will bring quality and competition for Martinelli and Saka.

“They have a lot of competitions this season so they need quality to close the gap. He’s a quality player.”

“Mikel Merino is another profile that would suit Arsenal and the style of play.

“There’s room in the midfield but the places are tough to get with Ødegaard, Rice, Jorginho, Havertz and Partey so it’s not easy but they need competition to close the gap (with City).”

Red Devils ‘line up Rios bid’

Manchester United are reportedly poised to launch an offer for Palmeiras midfielder Richard Rios.

Goal Brazil say the Red Devils are preparing a formal approach for the 13-cap Colombian, 24.

PSG’s Uruguay ace Manuel Ugarte is still regarded as United’s main target for a new anchorman.

But it’s claimed Old Trafford boss Erik ten Hag wants more than one new option in midfield.

Ashworth hails new ‘energy’ around Old Trafford

Manchester United sporting director Dan Ashworth claims he can feel a new “energy and determination” after admitting the club fell below “required standards” last term.

In a long letter to fans. Ashworth hailed “exciting new additions to the squad, and to the coaching team”.

So far, however, the only players are striker Joshua Zirkzee and 18-year-old centre-back Leny Yoro

Ashworth said: “We are all clear that last season fell below the required standards in the Premier League and Champions League but, by winning the FA Cup in such impressive fashion, our players and staff showed what they are capable of when everyone pulls together and performs to their potential.

“Our collective challenge is to reach those levels much more consistently.

It’s my job, together with Jason (Wilcox, technical director), to create the right support structures and environment around Erik (ten Hag), the staff and players to make that possible.

“Already, I can feel a strong sense of energy and determination around the group, as the players and staff return fresh from their breaks.”

Gunners tipped to offer Nketiah for Guehi

Eddie Nketiah could be used as bait as Arsenal bid to win the £60million-plus hunt for Marc Guehi.

Crystal Palace centre-back Guehi, who was linked with Manchester United before Euro 2024, has seen his stock soar since his sterling displays in helping England to the final.

And the latest speculation includes the claim the Gunners are willing to offer striker Nketiah in part exchange.

So far West Ham have been rated favourites to land the Emirates academy product.

But the Eagles might be tempted by a potential part-exchange offer from Arsenal – if they believe they can’t keep Guehi.

Nketiah, 25, earned his sole England cap last October as a sub in a 1-0 friendly win against Australia.
