I set up a whole garden on my apartment balcony – my new addition should fix a tricky problem I faced last year

Redditor Important-banana shared how they were hoping some adjustments would help everything grow better.

“So happy with my balcony setup that we finally put up yesterday!” they said.

They explained some of the planting issues they had previously faced.

“This is my second season at this apartment,” they said.

“Last season didn’t bear much harvest since being on the third floor created a lot of crosswinds which caused a lot of damage to the plants,” they continued.

“The all-metal railing posed a challenge since it is demagnetized.”

Not one to give up, they now had a new planting plan in place.

“Secured a clear plastic barrier to help reduce wind and zip-tied a wooden lattice to the railing to build the containers up the wall,” they said.

The image they shared showed over a dozen plants hanging on the new wall.

They also decorated the outdoor space with larger potted plants as well as furniture to sit back and enjoy it all.

“Now I just have to wait to see everything grow!” they said.
