Eddie Murphy is supportive of his son Eric Murphy‘s romance with buddy Martin Lawrence‘s daughter, Jasmin Lawrence – so substantially that he hopes they’ll give him a “funny” grandbaby at some stage.
“We believed it was great,” Eddie, 63, instructed Gayle King of his son and Martin’s daughter obtaining with each other in an job interview with CBS Mornings on Tuesday, July 2. “They’re both of those attractive. They glance incredible alongside one another. And it is amusing [because] every person [asks], ‘What, is that newborn likely to be humorous?’”
He ongoing, “Just our gene pool is heading to make this humorous child. If they ever get married and have a kid, I’m anticipating the child to be humorous.”
Eric, 34, and Jasmin, 28, went public with their relationship via Instagram in June 2021.

“Head around heels in Appreciate with YOU,” Eric captioned a sweet snap of the liked-up couple at the time, including the hashtags, “My other half,” “Equally yoked” and “I like you.”
While speaking to In Contact in 2022, Jasmin opened up about how she and her beau satisfied, sharing that their dads – who starred in 1992’s Boomerang and 1999’s Daily life jointly – weren’t the ones who launched them.
“My uncle truly released us, it was not even our dads,” the Terrible Boys: Experience or Die actress informed the outlet. “And they’ve performed two motion pictures collectively. They’re friends. It is outrageous. We satisfied by way of my uncle and became genuinely very good close friends. We bonded [over] a lot of things. Clearly, we have very similar backgrounds so we recognized every other on a selected stage, and about time it just turned a lot more.”
Jasmin is the eldest of three of Martin’s youngsters. The Negative Boys star is also father to daughters Iyanna, 23, and Amara, 21.
In the meantime, Eric is the eldest of Eddie’s 10 small children. (Eddie shares Eric with ex-girlfriend Paulette McNeely.) The Coming to The us star is also father to daughters Bria, 34, Shayne, 29, Zola, 24, and Bella, 22, as perfectly as sons Christian, 33, and Myles, 31, all of whom he shares with ex-wife Nicole Mitchell.

In his CBS Mornings job interview with King, Eddie detailed how his parenting style has altered from when he was a new dad to now.
“I’ve always been the similar sort of dad – laidback,” he mentioned. “I’m not [a] super difficult disciplinary. I’m, like, a neat father. But I never allow them get away with all varieties of things. I’ve usually been there for anything: faculty plays and all that stuff. My two minimal kinds, they get to go wild and [get] loud. My other young ones didn’t have [that].”
