Morrisons urgently recalls £1 kitchen staple over bacteria fears and issues ‘do not eat’ warning – The Sun

MORRISONS has urgently recalled a £1 kitchen staple over bacteria fears – and issued a “do not eat” warning.

The supermarket recalled its own-brand crushed garlic because the product lacked a key ingredient that could mean it is dangerous to eat.

The urgent notice warned customers: “If you have bought the above product do not eat it.”

It added that the missing ingredient “prevents microbiological growth and  and therefore presents a potential risk to consumers”.

Lack of this ingredient could make the product “potentially unsafe to eat”, according to the Food Standards Agency (FSA).

A spokesperson from the FSA added: “Morrisons is recalling the above product.

“Point of sale notices will be displayed in stores wherethe product was sold.

“These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.”
