COLEEN Rooney has revealed her final call to husband Wayne Rooney ahead of her time on I’m A Celebrity.
After years of persuasion, Coleen, 38, has signed up to take on the challenge of the ITV jungle, with the launch show airing tonight.
Joining the likes of GK Barry, Oti Mabuse, Corrie’s Alan Halsall and Loose Women’s Jane Moore, Coleen will be thrown in the deep end with a stunt where she faces heading down a river in a canoe.
But before doing that, Coleen wanted to ensure she had everything lined-up at home, and managed to sneak in one final call to her husband before her phone was taken by the production team.
Speaking to The Mirror, Coleen said: “My phone got taken off me when we landed. Like, when I came out of the airport.
“My last one was to Wayne, the kids were at school, so I’d already pre-spoken to them knowing that when I landed, they would have been at school. I just checked on everything.
“And then before that I spoke to my mum because she’s looking after the kids as well as Wayne.
“So it was just good luck and I just wanted to see if the kids got off to school ok.”
Coleen is the proud mum to four boys – Kai, 15, Klay, 11, Kit, 8, and six-year-old Cass – with Wayne, who she has been with since they were teenagers.
Ahead of her trip to Australia, Coleen left behind a massive list of things to do in order to keep all her boys on schedule.
“Not having that contact, I’d say up until now, has been the biggest thing,” Coleen admits.
“You get used to having your phone and speaking to people all the time, you feel a bit secluded from the world.”
But in order to make sure those at home knows she’s thinking of them, Coleen has come up with a special code as a little message when they watch the shows.
The WAG will touch her personalised £180 Cloudbox Gifts necklace with her sons’ names on it.
A source told The Sun: “The hardest thing for Coleen will be being away from her sons so she wants them to know they are on her mind.
“It’s the first time she has left them for any period of time.”
The source added: “Coleen was nervous about the effect going into the jungle would have on the kids as she has never spent more than a night or two away from them.
“But she is leaving them in good hands as her parents are moving in to look after them.
“Her eldest Kai was very keen for her to go into the jungle.”
