Out of all the funny talent featured in the cast of Jack Whitehall’s holiday special, Jack in Time for Christmas, Michael Bublé made the comedian laugh the most on set.

“[Bublé’s] a natural comedian. He improved loads of sketch ideas and was swearing a bunch in the improv, Whitehall, 36, exclusively told Us Weekly.

“He dropped a C-bomb and when Michael Bublé drops a C-bomb, a fairy dies,” Whitehall quipped. “He’s got this wicked sense of humor, and it was a joy to be around.”

The British comedian and Bublé, 49, first developed a “bromance” when they were guests on The Graham Norton Show in 2012. “Then, I was watching an interview he did where he said he wanted to do a road trip and I pitched it. Little did he know the road trip comment would lock him into us doing this movie together,” Whitehall said. “I’m so glad it happened; we’re still very close.”

Jack in Time for Christmas, is based on Whitehall’s favorite Christmas movies as a kid. “It was a homage to various movies like Cool Runnings, a ton of others, with a load of sketches, interviews and stunts,” he told Us. “It was a miracle we got it made, the air miles alone flying all over the world to film with all these people was incredible.”

Nothing screams the holidays like snuggling up on the couch, grabbing cocoa and putting on a festive movie. Us Weekly has rounded up the most “snuggle-worthy” Christmas films to stream this season, including The Holiday, White Christmas and Hallmark’s The Christmas Cottage. “Going on to the sets for The Holiday, you just felt like you were […]

The Christmas comedy special, which is partially-scripted, is set to release on Prime Video in December. Jack in Time for Christmas will follow Whitehall stranded in the U.S. with only four days to return to the U.K. for the holiday. The cast includes Jimmy Fallon, Rebel Wilson and Dave Bautista.

Just in time for the holidays, too, is Whitehall’s standup comedy show in New York City with his dad Michael, titled Jack & Michael Whitehall Live, which will film on Friday, November 8 at Carnegie Hall.

Jack and Michael, 84, (a leading talent agent who has managed talents like Daniel Day-Lewis, Colin Firth and Judi Dench) have worked on several projects together over the years, including two Netflix shows, a live show and a book. After five seasons of Jack Whitehall: Travels with My Father, Whitehall said working so much together has “brought us closer.”

“We love it. We get to spend a lot of time together and hang out, which is really a gift at this strange moment of our lives,” he said. “What’s really nice is we maintain a strong relationship through everything. It’s crazy to me that we’ve made it together this long, through so many series, and get to keep doing it.”

Jack & Michael Whitehall Live will be the first comedy special Jack has filmed with Michael since becoming a father himself. Jack welcomed his first child, Elsie, in September 2023 with model and girlfriend Roxy Horner. Last Christmas, Whitehall said Elsie was too young to celebrate, but he’s “hoping she’ll be a little more with it” this year.

Jack also told Us that he would “love” to carry on their family tradition and work with his daughter one day. “That’ll be the next incarnation and it’ll go on forever if she shows interest in it,” he said.
