DONALD Trump and his wife Melania have cast their votes in the 2024 election as he expressed confidence in his campaign.
Trump and the former first lady voted at a polling location in Palm Beach, Florida, minutes away from his private beach club and residence in Mar-a-Lago.
The former president, who wore a red MAGA hat, navy suit, and a white dress shirt, took questions from reporters regarding the state of the election as Melania stood silently beside him.
Barron Trump, who became eligible to vote in March after turning 18, skipped the trip to the polling location.
Trump expressed confidence about his chances of winning the election, telling the media he has a “substantial lead.”
“I feel very confident. I hear we’re doing very well everywhere,” he said.
The Republican presidential nominee said he was “very honored” to learn that lines at polling sites nationwide are very long.
He called his 2024 campaign the “best” of the three he ran, “It won’t even be close. But it’s going to take a long time to certify.”
However, Trump slammed the nation’s voting process and the delay in certifying the 270 Electoral College votes needed to win the election.
“This election should be over tonight. They spent all this money on machines, and frankly, if they use paper ballots, it should be over by 10 pm, he said.
“If they would use paper ballots, voter ID, proof of citizenship, and one-day voting, it would all be over by 10 pm this evening.”
But, while Trump and his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, wait for the official vote to be certified in the critical battleground states, the former president advised his supporters and GOP constituents to “stay in line.”
