Travis Kelce had “mixed feelings” about getting out of the house for a baseball game with girlfriend Taylor Swift in New York City.
Kelce, 35, opened up about his recent date nights with Swift, 34, during the Wednesday, October 16, episode of “New Heights” while recapping the Kansas City Chiefs bye week. The couple were spotted at the first game of the American League Championship Series on Monday, October 14, watching the New York Yankees play the Cleveland Guardians.
“The whole time I’m screaming,” Travis told his brother and podcast cohost, Jason Kelce. “I’m in hostile territory because it’s the Bronx Bombers and I’m at the Yankees Stadium in the playoffs. I’m over here cheering for the Guards because I’m a Cleveland kid and I want to see Cleveland win a f—ing World Series.”
Travis explained his “mixed feelings” about supporting the away team, saying, “I was there trying to have some fun with Tay and everybody, all our friends. … We had an unbelievable crew with us and hanging with us. It was fun, even though the Guards couldn’t pull it off. It was still an exciting, exciting game. It was cool to see Yankees Stadium ’cause I’ve always wanted to see that thing in person — in a playoff game, in a hostile environment — and it didn’t disappoint, man.”
The Yankees won 5-2 on Monday night and are currently undefeated in the series against the Guardians after Game 2 on Tuesday, October 15.
Travis and the pop star took their PDA to the next level at Game 1 while sitting in their private suite. In photos shared via social media, Travis covered his and Swift’s faces with his hat as they kissed. The official MLB TikTok account even got in on the action.
“TAYLOR SWIFT ATTENDS GAME WITH HER POTENTIAL FUTURE HUSBAND IN MY DREAMS TRAVIS KELCE YOU TWO MAKE ME BELIEVE IN LOVE I CAN’T STOP CRYING NEVER CHANGE ILYSM #TAYVIS,” read the caption of a video shared Monday.
TikTok users were quick to poke fun at the MLB’s excitement, with one fan writing in the comments section, “Me, a social media manager, when I accidentally post something on the work account instead of my personal account.”
Ahead of their Yankees game date, Travis and Swift went out to dinner with Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds at NYC hotspot The Corner Store on Friday, October 11. The couple stepped out again on Saturday, October 12, for dinner at Torrisi.
During Wednesday’s “New Heights,” which featured an interview with sports broadcaster Pat McAfee, Travis gushed about the unexpected turn his life has taken since he began dating Swift. (The twosome’s romance began last summer before they were first spotted together at a September 2023 Chiefs game.)
“At this point, you can’t fathom what’s going on, so it’s just like a dream,” Travis said. “It’s crazy. It’s insane. I don’t know how the f— I got to live this silly ass f—ing life, but I am definitely fortunate for it.”
