MOANING Nimbys will not be allowed to “veto the aspiration of a generation” to own a home, Sir Keir Starmer has warned.
The PM vowed to take on the “vocal minority” of blockers as he announced a half-a-billion-pound investment to build cheaper social housing.

In a rallying cry to “get Britain building again”, he promised to tear up pointless red tape and kickstart a construction drive.
Writing in The Sun, Sir Keir said: “The centuries-old infrastructure we built is incredible. But it’s madness that we’re still relying on it in the 21st Century.
He added: “We’re empowering expert planning officers to boost building, not Nimbys who stifle growth.
At yesterday’s Investment Summit the PM secured cash from three firms to deliver 5,000 new homes as well as fresh funding to tackle homelessness.
Schroders, one of the UK’s biggest social investment managers, will give £50 million to Homes England to deliver more affordable housing.
Fund manager Resonance will boost its investment in tackling homelessness from £79m to £250m.
And firm Man Group will contribute an additional £100million investment to pave the way for affordable and environmentally sustainable housing for communities across England, with 90 per cent of new homes designated as affordable.
