BBC actress’ horror as hooded man tries to get into her car while she’s sitting at traffic lights in her motor

AN actress has shared terrifying footage of a man trying to force his way into her car while she’s sitting at traffic lights.

Netflix star Shanika Ocean screamed at the man and yelled for him to leave her alone, but he keeps creepily grinning at her as he repeatedly tries ripping at her door handle.

Shanika, who starred in hit show You, said the horror unfolded in central London last night.

The actress had been waiting for the lights to turn green when a man wearing a black puffer jacket and grey hoodie approached her at about 10.30pm.

She said she begged for him to leave her alone, and tried covering his face with his hoodie during the hellish two-miniute ordeal.

Shanika said the horror unfolded around on the junction between Dock Street and the A1203, near the Tower of London.

She’s now put a warning out to others – especially women – telling them to lock their doors.

Shanika says she’s terrified of what would have happened if her car was unlocked.

The actress, who also starred in BBC’s Silent Witness and Make Me Famous, said in a video on Instagram: “I don’t really remember what happened next – somehow I managed to swerve around him and drive off.

“Obviously it’s just a horrible, horrible experience. Just make sure you lock your car doors. London isn’t safe at all.

“You can’t walk with your phone out because it will probably get stolen by these guys on electric bikes, make sure your car doors are locked because you’re going to get weirdos trying to get into your car.

“I wasn’t even going to call the police but I was like – nah I should, because obviously this could happen to someone else this evening. I said I’ve got a video of him, I’ve got a description and they said oh ok, we’ll sort an appointment next week and you can discuss it then because he did gun signs.

“There is no police, this guy is still lurking out there. To anyone, make sure you lock your car doors.

“And especially women, when you’re driving alone – London just isn’t safe anymore at all and I’m literally like – thank God my doors were locked. I dread to think what would have happened if they were not.”

She said when the man first approached her car he was making “weird signals” with his hands.

Shanika said she ignored him, even when she says he did gun signals and asked her to roll her window down.

It’s just a horrible, horrible experience. Just make sure you lock your car doors. London isn’t safe at all.

She claims that when he couldn’t get in through her front door, he walked around the car and tried the back.

The actress put a warning out online, saying: “I think people need to be aware of how unsafe London is right now.

“Be safe and make sure you lock your car doors.”

Met Police tonight said: “We are aware of footage showing an incident on 15 June in Dock Street, E1.

“Officers are in contact with the female victim.

“Anyone who knows the identity of the man shown in the video is asked to call 101, ref 7515/15jun. To remain anonymous, please contact Crimestoppers.”
