Amazon slashes lesser-known mid-range Android phone from £500 to £239 – customers calls it ‘beautiful, sleek, amazing’

AMAZON has cut the cost of an Android smartphone by a walloping 47%.

Customers are going wild for the Honor 90 5G mobile, which has fallen from £499.99 to £238.96.

Amazon has slashed the mid-range Honor 90 smartphone by almost 50% this September

You might need to do a bit of searching and scrolling, but there’s often some great price drops on SIM-free smartphones available on the Amazon site.

They’re just not necessarily from the phone market’s big-hitters, like Apple, Samsung and Google.

The last time I wrote about Honor (a former subsidiary of Chinese titan Huawei) was when its flagship Honor 200 range hit the market back in June.

By contrast, the Honor 90 is aimed squarely at the middle of the market.

Early last month, my fellow deal writer Rhys Melhado-Thompson covered a similar price drop on the SIM-free Honor 90 Lite on Amazon.

That lower-end device from the range is actually still on sale for £159 (was £300).

The standard Honor 90 is the pricier of the two, of course.

But it comes with a higher-resolution screen, longer battery life, better cameras and bigger RAM memory.

And honestly, at that low new sale price, it’s a pretty tempting-looking choice for Android shoppers hunting for a mid-range deal.

Firstly, it’s a pretty large phone, with a 6.7-inch, AMOLED display – this is a cheeky comparison, but it’s the same size as Apple’s top-of-the-range iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Obviously, they don’t match in specs and features. But it’s something to keep in mind if you like streaming and gaming.

Secondly, there’s the cosmetics.

Yes, the Honor 90 has a plastic build – not uncommon for mid-range handsets – but that svelte design makes it look far pricier than it actually is.

Thirdly, there’s that hefty 5,000mAh battery size – and this is typically the big advantage that cheaper mobiles have over flashier options.

Unburdened by the cutting-edge internal processors and tech built into high-end options, mid-range and budget mobiles often come with much more stamina.

Shoppers who have already bought this mobile have left a tidal wave of largely positive reviews on the Amazon site.

‘Beautiful, sleek, amazing… budget-friendly,’ writes one customer. ‘This phone impresses me beyond my expectations.

‘Generally, the phone’s functions are smooth and intuitive.’

‘Screen size is great, clear display and superb colours,’ says another shopper. ‘Battery lasts an easy two days.’

Amazon has marked this as a limited-time deal. If you’re keen, my advice is to get buying, pronto.
