Two teenagers arrested for ‘murder’ after boy, 13, is stabbed to death in his home

TWO teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 13-year-old boy was stabbed to death in his home.

Cops confirmed that the pair were collared this afternoon following the attack on Thursday.

The youth died shortly after being attacked at a property in Oldbury, West Midlands.

It is understood that he was at home at the time of the stabbing.

Bunches of flowers, stuffed toys and candles have been left outside the address in memory of the boy.

His identity has not yet been confirmed.

Now, West Midlands Police has confirmed that two suspects, both also teenage boys, have been taken into custody.

A spokesperson for the force revealed that they had been arrested “over the murder of a 13-year-old boy”.

They added: “Two boys were today detained in connection with the fatal stabbing in Lovett Avenue on Thursday.

“They have been taken into police custody for questioning.

“The family of the 13-year-old boy who died are aware of the developments in our investigation.

“Our thoughts remain with them at this devastating time.”

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson added: “We were called to a stabbing at a private address on Lovett Avenue just after 4pm on Thursday.

“One ambulance, two paramedic officers, the WMAS Critical Care Car, a MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic and a BASICS emergency doctor attended the scene.

“Upon arrival, we found a teenage boy with life-threatening injuries.

“Ambulance staff administered advanced trauma care at the scene but unfortunately, despite their best efforts nothing more could be done to save him and he was confirmed deceased at the scene.”
