FIVE Nights at Freddy’s has been hugely popular since its original release back in 2014, and the series is about to reach its 10-year anniversary.
To celebrate the milestone, developer Scottgames has announced a week of updates with new releases and announcements for fans.
This includes a number of free goodies for fans, including a demo release for Five Laps at Freddy’s, an upcoming spin-off game.
There will also be an interview with developer Scott Cawthorn, among other game and demo releases.
While most of the schedule is quite clear, there are two events which fans are trying to figure out.
The first is a Steel Wool announcement scheduled for August 6.
Steel Wool is the studio behind a number of FNAF spin-offs such as FNAF: Security Breach, and FNAF: Help Wanted.
This announcement is expected to be either a new game in one of these series, or an update for one of the existing games.
The other mysterious event on the schedule is on August 5, when there will be a ‘??? collab announcement’.
As soon as the schedule was revealed, fans immediately started speculating about what the other part of the FNAF collaboration would be.
Dead by Daylight was one of the first suggestions, and it seems to fit the bill as a horror game known for a huge number of collaborations with different media.
However, as there is an upcoming Dead by Daylight x Castlevania crossover, players think it’s unlikely that a FNAF collaboration would occur at the same time.
This has led people to speculate that the upcoming collaboration will be with Fortnite, which hosts a number of crossovers every month.
There are a number of clues which have led people to believe that there will be a FNAF x Fortnite event.
Firstly, Epic Games recently sent out a poll to Fortnite players asking which crossovers they would like to see.
FNAF antagonist Freddy Fazbear was included in the list, which people think is the developer trying to gauge player’s excitement.
The other clue is that Fortnite will be updated next week, the day after the mysterious collab announcement.
Fortnite often discloses changes shortly before the update occurs, making the timing of this announcement perfect.
Of course, nothing has been confirmed either by Epic Games or Scottgames, so we will have to wait until August 5 to see the outcome.
